I got these hooked hive tools a few month back and I love them. They are very sturdy and the L hook is good for lifting frames out of my medium supers with no problem at all. The kit is useful and well thought out, but the quality control is poor. All of the edges on my hive tools had burrs and chips from machining. This is a big deal as they will be used for prying boxes open and I need the tool to easily slide between adjoining boxes without gouging the wood. This is a good set of tools for the beginner bee keeper. I am planning on starting up my first hive next Spring, so I got this set in anticipation. The steel tools seem to be good quality and this set has more that I thought I needed to start out.
